It's a quiet Wednesday in spring
so I've decided to spend the evening
wandering through the city
rekindling beautiful feelings

The breeze blowing down my top
I never want this to stop
The clever new designs on
the side of coffee shops

Sometimes the memories are sad
Sometimes they make me happy
With the grey clouds above I end up feeling
melancholy.

I think about sipping wine
but a hot chocolate will do
I know I should save some money but
I'm craving tiramisu

I watch out the window
the sounds of cars and bikes
the tourists and their scarves
the gorgeous multicoloured dykes

The candle's flame is warm
but I should go right now
my bus is waiting up and I've got movie tix and comic books in tow

As I say goodbye I tip a friendly busker
the streets start to come alive from the guitar on his shoulder
When I've gone away
I know I saw his soul
The city holds us tight on our evenings all alone.
